NaPoWriMo 2026 x The Deck of N0NE
In April 2026 we’ll be collecting poetry submissions and featuring poets in The Living Archive.
National Poetry Writing Month [star eyed emoji]
It’s National Poetry Writing Month and as a retired performance poet, I’m eager to engage with poetry in a new way. This month we are providing an opportunity for poets to submit their work in response to The Deck of N0NE. So, if you are looking for a little inspiration this month and love Afrofuturisim, this opportunity is for you.

How The Living Archive Came To Be
Last Summer, I created an installation for The Seattle Public Library, in collaboration with Vivid Matter Collective, called Rooted & Rising. This installation took inspiration from The Deck of N0NE and the African American Archive at the Douglass-Truth Library–an SPL branch in the historic Central District of Seattle. Additionally, this project invited five black artists (Akoiya Harris, DJ Summersoft, Quenton Baker, Natasha Green, and Rae Akino) to respond to a curated selection of works from the archive. Rooted & Rising provided a springboard for The Living Archive–an opportunity for the community to interact with the work on display.
